Teasing Turn 14’s Dual-Purpose S650 Mustang SEMA Build

Mustangs have always been affordable horsepower for everyone. With manual transmissions, rear-wheel drive, timeless styling, and heritage, they’re accessible to almost anyone and are incredibly customizable, which is why they’re so common in the car scene. With just a few well-chosen accessories, they can reflect their owner’s personality. From high-horsepower drag monsters to airbagged show cars, the Mustang community has never lacked creativity or passion.

HONORING HISTORY, WITH A MODERN TWIST

We drew inspiration from Ford’s history when we set out to create a modern Mustang that can attack a road course, rip down the strip, and still be civilized enough for the local Cars & Coffee, all in a road-legal compliant package. The all-new S650 platform was the perfect blank slate for crafting something versatile, edgy, and focused on a side of the Mustang world that doesn’t always take center stage.

For Turn 14 Distribution, this S650 isn’t just a showcase for our partners and their exceptional products; it’s a statement of Turn 14 Distribution’s passion and expertise in the domestic performance market, and our connection with our dealers who live and breathe American muscle.

What’s a sure-fire way to do that? How about if we give this Mustang away to one of them?

Our annual giveaway sales promotion will award one lucky dealer with a purpose-built Mustang that’s as comfortable tearing up a road course as it is lining up at the drag strip. This isn’t just a prize, it’s a centerpiece built to command attention in any showroom or shop, a well-deserved reward for the dealers driving the heartbeat of American performance culture. Every qualifying order placed during the program brings them one step closer to putting this keys-in-hand, turn-and-burn machine in their lineup.

BUILT TO DO IT ALL

Our mission was clear: craft a Mustang that’s as comfortable on the daily drive as it is fierce on the track and strip. A sleek, aggressive coupe that carves corners with precision, launches hard in a straight line, and turns heads everywhere it goes, all while meeting the standards set by CARB and the EPA. This machine is built to be a 50-state-legal, multi-tool.

Too often, Mustang builds get pigeonholed, either stripped-out drag cars that ditch all creature comforts or slammed show cars that never leave the parking lot. There’s nothing wrong with either; creativity in the Mustang world is truly unbound, and there’s a place for every style and passion.

Our S650 is built as a jack of all trades, versatile enough to let its owner choose the challenge and excel across multiple disciplines. All the while, it still offers the comfort needed after the checkered flag. Every partner and part was carefully chosen to deliver real-world performance without sacrificing style or drivability while remaining completely compliant in all 50 states.

INSPIRED BY LEGACY

Since its 1964½ debut, the Mustang has been a cornerstone of performance culture. It’s affordable, aggressive, and infinitely modifiable. But beyond the street, it’s been a legitimate track contender for decades.

The Boss 302 ruled Trans-Am in the late ’60s and early ’70s. The Shelby GT350 redefined road-race handling for the Mustang, setting a benchmark that still resonates today. The SVT Cobra, famously known as the Terminator, delivered blistering power and brutal performance that left an indelible mark on Mustang history.

The 2000 Cobra R was a raw, no-compromise competition machine, stripped down and built purely for the track. The GT350’s modern successor, the GT350R, cemented its legacy as one of the most capable, track-focused Mustangs ever built, combining razor-sharp chassis dynamics with a high-revving Voodoo V8.  Now, the GTD brings cutting-edge GT3-level technology to the street, proving Mustang’s legendary racing DNA continues to evolve and dominate.

That history shaped our vision for this build, but our eyes are also on the future. The GTD’s aggressive aero, advanced engineering, and track-first attitude inspired us to take the S650 in a direction that honors heritage while pushing the platform into new territory.

PURPOSE BUILT BACKED BY EXPERTISE

Our long-standing aftermarket relationships allowed us to assemble the perfect team to create a complete package. The title partner, Aeromotive, is well-versed in the Mustang chassis and continues to fuel passions and push technological boundaries with its innovative product line.

Presenting partner Air Lift Performance brings suspension kits that allow effortless transitions from coilovers to airbags, delivering track-ready handling by day and show-stopping style by night. ACT delivers drivetrain strength, ensuring its clutch system puts power to the ground with both performance and reliability.

Roush Performance brings decades of Mustang and Ford racing heritage to the project, dating back to Jack Roush’s championship-winning exploits. Known for engineering factory-backed performance packages and dominating both on the strip and in touring car competition, Roush’s expertise ensures our S650 benefits from proven speed, durability, 50-state compliance, and the kind of development that only comes from decades at the sharp end of Ford performance.

Mishimoto, our official cooling partner, keeps temps in check under abuse, while Fluidampr, Eaton, and Mahle Motorsport ensure the internals are up to the task. WELD wheels and Mickey Thompson tires put power to the pavement, DBA USA provides braking confidence, and Anderson Composites, Sparco, Driveshaft Shop, Diode Dynamics, and Billetworks round out the build with race-grade materials, lighting, and precision details.

Every choice serves the same goal: a Mustang that’s as at home on the strip or circuit as it is on Main Street.

PERFORMANCE WITH PURPOSE

The Turn 14 Distribution x Aeromotive Ford Mustang GT isn’t just about checking boxes; it’s proof that modern performance doesn’t have to be one-dimensional. It’s sleek without being soft, functional without being sterile, and aggressive without losing its daily manners.

The full reveal happens at the 2025 SEMA Show. Until then, expect this build to challenge expectations of what a Mustang can be, and where it can go.
