Turn 14 Distribution and Bilstein Wow 2025 Sand Sports Super Show with Can-Am Build Reveal

Every year, the OC Fair & Events Center in Costa Mesa, California, transforms into one of the largest migration points for rugged off-road beasts. Towering tires, thumping sound systems, and whistling turbo flutters echo through this temporary oasis, drawing vendors and enthusiasts from across the country. The constant buzz and overload of sights and sounds makes one thing clear: this isn’t your typical product expo. This is the Sand Sports Super Show (S4). And this year, Turn 14 Distribution joined the pack with a bang.

THE TURN 14 × BILSTEIN CAN-AM REVEAL

We kicked off this yearly pilgrimage with the unveiling of our debut powersports vehicle, the Turn 14 Distribution × Bilstein 2025 Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo RR. To transform this concept into a full-on race-ready machine, we turned to our partners at One Offroad in Tucson, Arizona, seasoned experts in the UTV segment and the ideal shop to assemble this turn-key, terrain-carving weapon.

At the heart of the X3 is Bilstein’s Black Hawk Powersports shocks, backed by the brand’s long pedigree of turning raw horsepower into precision control. More than a highlight, Bilstein served as the anchor for the entire build, representing the credibility and performance prowess that defined the project.

Surrounding Bilstein’s foundation was a supporting cast of top-tier partners. DragonFire Racing supplied the essentials for keeping the passengers secure and body safe, including doors, nerf bars, harnesses, and steering components. PRP rounded out the interior with a pair of its Contour suspension seats that elevated the cockpit into a race-ready command center. XKGlow rock lights and LED whips painted the UTV in color, while a Baja Designs 8XL light bar ensured darkness never slowed the ride.

Underneath, MBRP exhaust, K&N filtration, and EPI clutching added bite, kept in check by Maxima fluids and an Odyssey battery. Finally, the X3 put its power down on Method bead-grip wheels wrapped in Tensor Regulator 2 tires, with recovery gear from Rugged Radios, Superwinch, and Rhino USA ensuring no dune could hold it back.

The end result was more than a build; it was a statement. Led by Bilstein’s long-standing heritage in the off-road market, this Maverick provided a practical display of our extensive powersports catalog, while proving our commitment to the segment and our dealers.

SENSORY OVERLOAD

The 2025 S4 was everything the dunes faithful expect and more. With an estimated 35,000 attendees, the grounds buzzed with energy that felt larger than life. Besides the seemingly endless stream of dedicated enthusiasts, this year’s show provided a spectacle no matter where you looked. Turning a corner was like cresting a dune ridge to find a new terrain. From the loud paint jobs and vinyl wraps, towing lifts and impossibly low drops, lighting displays, and the sheer variety of off-road machines, all underscored by the steady rumble of bass-heavy sound system demos, this show catered to every need of adventuring enthusiasts.

Adding to the steady roar of the event was the Proving Grounds, an open skidpad with some strategically placed obstacles designed to showcase just how capable these vehicles really are. Folks lining the wall of the grounds were treated to high-flying acrobatics and savage pirouettes performed by UTVs, drift cars, and fully race-prepped trophy trucks, all with a symphony of turbo flutter, fire-breathing V8s, and a chorus of screeching tires.

Plenty of OEMs made the trip, including Can-Am, Kawasaki, Polaris, Segway, Yamaha, Honda, and Denago, who brought their UTVs for attendees to ogle, with the brand new, burly Kawasaki Teryx 4 H2 stealing the show.

TURN 14 AND OUR PARTNERS

This year, we opted for presence rather than a booth, with Turn 14’s network stretched across this year’s event, featuring a long list of partners showing their support for the off-roading community. Bilstein anchored with quiet authority, leaving out the gimmicks to display their long-standing performance technology pedigree. But right beside it: our UTV build drew the crowds. That visual centerpiece allowed staff to talk parts, systems, and the deeper value we bring as a distributor in the powersports space.

In addition to our UTV’s title sponsor, other brands that contributed to the build made their presence known. DragonFire leaned on dealership relationships and QuadBoss support. Partner booths, from Baja Designs, sPOD, MBRP, PRP Seats, Method, Tensor, Rhino USA, Rugged Radios, and Brian Crower, were active, vibrant chapters over the weekend.

Beyond that, much of our broader line card was represented across the venue. aFe POWER, HP Tuners, Diode Dynamics, MagnaFlow, LiquiMoly, Hella, Fox Factory, Antigravity Battery, Nacho Offroad Technology, Gibson, ITP Tires, and Rockford Fosgate’s presence at this show just serves as a reminder: Turn 14’s reach stretches far beyond one booth.

SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER

The Sand Sports Super Show isn’t just a showcase of products; it’s a gathering place for the off-road community, where passion and performance come together in one noisy, dust-filled celebration. For Turn 14 Distribution, it was about contributing to that energy, supporting the people and the culture that drive off-roading and powersports forward, and debuting a build that reflected the spirit of those communities.

The Turn 14 Distribution x Bilstein 2025 Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo RR will continue that journey, by returning to the OC Fair and Events Center for Off-Road Expo in October, then traveling to SEMA 2025 in November and AIMExpo 2026 in January, carrying the momentum of its debut and keeping the conversation alive across the powersports calendar.
