Not all Cars & Coffee gatherings are created equal. An unfortunate majority of them are loosely organized in a strip mall parking lot and are disbanded by mischievous attendees. However, to open the eighth straight year of Cars & Coffee events — now featuring a Motorcycle Alley — at Turn 14 Distribution’s headquarters in Horsham, PA, a standout experience for automotive and powersports enthusiasts wasn’t all that was on offer. Our focus remains on hosting high-quality events connecting the community with partner brands that drive the industry, like Fluidampr and Continental Tire. Our own Philanthropy Committee positioned Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue and its adoptable pups in the spotlight to increase awareness for a local charitable cause. To highlight Turn 14’s partnerships in the industry, all-new exclusive dealer parking was made available for members of our vast dealer and repair shop network.
A NEW SEASON BEGINS
Staying true to past Cars & Coffees, this event was preceded by a week of questionable weather forecasts threatening rain and thunderstorms. Fortunately, the crossed fingers and toes resulted in a beautiful morning for over one thousand enthusiasts to indulge in two- and four-wheel excellence. The lot was spotted with remarkable vehicles, like a custom chopper with custom air suspension, a home-built crosskart, a factory-fresh Pontiac Trans-Am, and a terrain-dominating SHERP.
As the sole U.S. and Canada automotive distributor for the Akrapovič brand, we were excited to help unveil Tyspeed’s Akrapovič-equipped BMW M2 Pikes Peak challenger at our event. The car will be chasing the production record up Colorado’s fabled mountain this June. Tyler Pappas, of Tyspeed, was on-site to say a few words and thank partners before pulling the cover off and revealing the Andy Blackmore-designed livery. After treating attendees to a taste of the Akrapovič exhaust sound, visitors were free to walk around the Sparco-equipped race-prepped chassis with a Radium Engineering fuel system.
BIKES, BIKES, BIKES
The true benefit of the fair weather was the turnout by local motorcycle enthusiasts, including a handful of women celebrating International Female Ride Day. Turn 14 Distribution has grown immensely in the powersports space since its entry less than two years ago, reflected by the 100+ bikes that filled our Motorcycle Alley presented by Continental Tire. We can’t think of anywhere else where you’ll find such a mix of Ducati sportbikes, Harley-Davidson baggers, Kawasaki streetfighters, and Triumph cafe racers, all in one place.
Special guest NAMZ Custom Cycle Products, a local vendor partner of Turn 14 Distribution, rolled through to show off its flame-splashed bagger equipped with the latest wiring and lighting products. The company’s Humvee pickup was also a welcome sight to our truck and off-road community.
PURPOSEFUL PARTNERSHIPS
Fluidampr is a huge supporter of enthusiasts and racers, which is why we’re happy for them to be a repeat guest at our celebration of cars and community. A remarkable Subaru WRX STI, owned by T14’s own Eric Jung, whose GR Corolla we’ve previously featured, was positioned at their booth. Attendees had the opportunity to grill the Fluidampr team on the benefits of adding a viscous damper to their track cars…and ask them what a viscous damper is in the first place.
Our Motorcycle Alley is intended to be a space that unites all types of riders. Continental Tires is aligned with this goal, servicing every single kind of motorcycle, from classics to sport touring to scooters. Their custom BMW R9T Urban GS, sporting a flashy Continental livery and a set of ContiRoadAttack 4 tires, drew plenty of attention to the booth, which bookended Motorcycle Alley. As riders arrived, they were given a raffle ticket for the chance to win one bundle of goodies, including a riding shirt, tank bag, helmet bag, and a pair of tires, compliments of Continental. In the spirit of International Female Ride Day, a lucky lady rider went home with the grand prize!
While the community provided the cars, the event isn’t complete without coffee. Radium Engineering has been a long-time supporter of Turn 14 Distribution and its events. The brand is trusted by motorsports competitors worldwide for reliable fuel delivery, so of course, Turn 14 trusted them to provide attendees with high-octane coffee, and some decaf for the more mellow members of the crowd.
A LOCAL TOUCH
New to Cars & Coffee at Turn 14 Distribution were our local community partners. Thanks to Turn 14’s Philanthropy Committee, Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue had the opportunity to come out to gather support for its cause. They’re a non-profit organization with the goal to rescue all breeds and ages of dogs from kill shelters and unwanted situations, then find them forever homes. Their featured pet, Betsie, was present along with some puppies. We’re pleased to share that they received many adoption applications and donations.
Other local automotive businesses were present, and one in a very big way: SHERP Northeast. This stout, go-anywhere all-terrain vehicle captivated all ages with its goofy shape and massive 71-inch tires. Fun fact: the tires typically run at only 3 psi and can be deflated or inflated remotely.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Season Opener was an exceptional start to this year’s Cars & Coffee series. With more bikes populating Motorcycle Alley and even more exceptional cars and trucks rolling through each year, the remaining two dates in 2025 look promising. That’s right, two more dates! Turn 14 Distribution is hosting a Cars & Coffee mid-summer on July 12, so get your sunscreen ready. Then, our Season Closer will take place on October 4.
Thank you to Fluidampr for the continued support and to Continental Tire for growing our Motorcycle Alley. We’ll see the rest of you in July!
